With a full 102-inches width and overall length of 53-feet, the Doonan® Platinum™ Mini-Double Drop can be constructed with a 6-13” deep well on a 40” rear deck height trailer (approximately 27”-34” deck height well); or, a 3-5” deep well on a 35” rear deck (approximately 30”-32” deck height well). Doonan’s custom frame design combines the advantages of a lightweight steel chassis (hot-dipped galvanized for superior corrosion protection and resistance), together with a durable extruded aluminum perimeter frame and flooring. The trailer boasts a load capacity of 90,000-pounds GVWR and 60,000-pounds concentrated in 10-feet to accommodate heavy hauls.

When presented with the requirement of providing our customer with a lightweight, corrosion resistant trailer, for use in hauling lowclearance vehicles and back hauls of high-cube cargo, Doonan® met the challenge with its Platinum™ Mini-Double Drop trailer.

With a full 102-inches width, smooth side rails and overall length of 53-feet; Doonan’s custom frame design combines the advantages of a lightweight steel chassis (hot-dipped galvanized for superior corrosion protection and resistance), together with a durable extruded aluminum perimeter frame and flooring.

The Mini-Double Drop boasts a load capacity of 90,000-pounds GVWR and 60,000-pounds concentrated in 10-feet to accommodate heavy hauls. Load securement is provided using internal chain ties and D-rings, which are recessed in the floor.

Located at the sloped neck, is an all-aluminum full-width ramp system, providing the lightest weight ramping to the trailer’s upper deck area.

Convenience and durability are engineered throughout the trailer’s unitized design. This is prevalent in the large capacity, 105” tapered aluminum storage box, built into the sides of the front sloped neck. This component is designed to accommodate the two folding rear aluminum dovetail ramps when they are removed – providing additional vehicle carrying capacity on the tapered rear deck. A smooth aluminum floor encompasses the trailer, thereby saving weight, providing better fuel efficiency and extending the trailer’s life cycle. A fixed dovetail rear enclosure allows for safe and efficient equipment loading.
